Uneverything

I know it’s not a word, uneverything. When I type it, trust me, the smart little laptop filled with all the smarty pants intelligence tells me it’s not correct. But I like it. Uneverything. If I say it enough or use it enough, who knows, might show up somewhere in something. Uneverything. Say it with me- uneverything! Do a little dance while you shout it out loud. Uneverything! Uneverything! Uneverything! Well either you’re shaking your head or you need just as much therapy that I don’t have the money to pay for. So instead I’ll try to give my little uneverything rant a reason for you to keep reading. Spoiler alert- it’s full of babble with a side of vent. If you’re still reading maybe I have piqued your inner curiosity or...

Wow…just wow

So, there I was the other day chatting with a friend when he said, “Hey, I saw you the other day and waved. Guess you didn’t see me?” My response as I racked my brain for the encounter that I missed, “How did you know it was me?” He just looked at me as if I lost all my brain cells. Oh yeah…my name is on the back of my truck…duh Not hard to miss big bold letters www.MalissaHall.com on the back windshield…you would think. I guess I just forget that it’s there. Sometimes I surprise myself on how often I do that. I know I’m horrible with actually updating my web page. I’m a horrible blogger, I can admit that. I need to have someone who can actually remember or read my many, messy post it notes to do...

Lilura’s Secret

Haven’t been around- bought a house on some property so the horses have a place to roam and call home. I’ll be back and working hard on Lilura’s Secret in just a few short weeks. The rehabbing of the new place is almost complete and furniture should start to be moved in this weekend. I haven’t forgotten about them, just been letting their stories stew and play around. The voices have been bouncing around, echoing, demanding to be heard. Wanted to share a few of the highlights in a conversational type of way to introduce a few of the main characters…and they are characters! Dragon King “We were here first. We see all. Even during our long slumber, our consciousness still lingered, traveling through the veils. We, the mighty Dragons...

Day of my birth…

Well today I’m another year older. Whoever said you gain wisdom as you age should be shot. I don’t feel any smarter I thought this morning, as I looked in the mirror noticing the faint lines around my eyes. Should I feel something? Or will wisdom just spout from my mouth when an interesting conversation is struck upon within my earshot? Will I just hear that snap, crackle and pop and ta-da! smartness will descend down from the heavens? I think not… So, instead I’ll just say “Thank the Gods that my kids are smarter than I am.” (They don’t really follow the blog so I’m not afraid of putting it out there.) Happy Birthday to me! Looking back in the mirror once more all I can say is “Hell, not too bad! I’ve sur

Indie Author

Yup, for those that haven’t figured it out, I’m an Indie Author. What does that say about me you ask? Just that. I’m an independent author. I write what I want to write, when I want to write it. Yes, I do have an editor, KP. Yes, I publish via CreatSpace on Amazon.com. Yes, I can set my own prices, to an degree. I can develop my own cover and use my own words. Yes, I have to do my own PR work, which in all honesty, I completely suck at, but I’ll get back to that in a moment. Yes, I do have Beta Readers and yes, I have contests and giveaways on my FaceBook page. Does that make me any less an author- nope. Okay, let’s talk about PR. I am on numerous “Author” pages on FB. But I am in the process of eliminating most...
