Lilura’s Secret

Haven’t been around- bought a house on some property so the horses have a place to roam and call home. I’ll be back and working hard on Lilura’s Secret in just a few short weeks. The rehabbing of the new place is almost complete and furniture should start to be moved in this weekend. I haven’t forgotten about them, just been letting their stories stew and play around. The voices have been bouncing around, echoing, demanding to be heard. Wanted to share a few of the highlights in a conversational type of way to introduce a few of the main characters…and they are characters! Dragon King “We were here first. We see all. Even during our long slumber, our consciousness still lingered, traveling through the veils. We, the mighty Dragons...

Day of my birth…

Well today I’m another year older. Whoever said you gain wisdom as you age should be shot. I don’t feel any smarter I thought this morning, as I looked in the mirror noticing the faint lines around my eyes. Should I feel something? Or will wisdom just spout from my mouth when an interesting conversation is struck upon within my earshot? Will I just hear that snap, crackle and pop and ta-da! smartness will descend down from the heavens? I think not… So, instead I’ll just say “Thank the Gods that my kids are smarter than I am.” (They don’t really follow the blog so I’m not afraid of putting it out there.) Happy Birthday to me! Looking back in the mirror once more all I can say is “Hell, not too bad! I’ve sur

Indie Author

Yup, for those that haven’t figured it out, I’m an Indie Author. What does that say about me you ask? Just that. I’m an independent author. I write what I want to write, when I want to write it. Yes, I do have an editor, KP. Yes, I publish via CreatSpace on Amazon.com. Yes, I can set my own prices, to an degree. I can develop my own cover and use my own words. Yes, I have to do my own PR work, which in all honesty, I completely suck at, but I’ll get back to that in a moment. Yes, I do have Beta Readers and yes, I have contests and giveaways on my FaceBook page. Does that make me any less an author- nope. Okay, let’s talk about PR. I am on numerous “Author” pages on FB. But I am in the process of eliminating most...

The Board Game

Well, I did it. I hit the ‘submit’ button. In just a few short days The Board Game will go live on Amazon. I thought I would find myself celebrating and I’m still wondering why I’m not. Maybe because I still have 3 books sitting there still waiting to be finished and now I have no excuse to NOT finish them? Or maybe out of sheer frustration that it took me so long to hit that button? Guess I will just never know. I hope everyone that reads it enjoys it, but it’s a bittersweet celebration to say the least. I love the characters and watched gleefully as they spun their tale and grew into what they became as the voices shouted for creation. I don’t even have a favorite part, I liked it all. Becoming one with your own...

Lilura’s Secret

Here I was driving along, minding my own business when the story popped into my head. I’m sure every driver at the stop lights wondered who I was talking to as I refined it and built the conversations. I’ve had requests to give a final story to the Secrets Trilogy- and I guess it’s finally ready to be told. I went home and hammered out four chapters in one sitting, letting the words fall away and appear on page after page. I’m not sure where it’s going to lead me, it’s all about discovery and development. My job as a writer, is to let them tell me their story, sometimes I’m just as surprised as everyone else the twist and turns. Here’s just a peek, can’t promise this will be the final results though! It was the...

Banging my head on my desk…

So here I am again…sitting…staring in space waiting for inspiration to strike. I have stories laid out around me, story boards spread out on the table, the floor – well just about anywhere I can spread them and yet- here I am. Blogging. Or at least trying too. I’ve read all the ‘do’s’ and ‘don’ts’ of blogging and they teach me nothing. Some bloggers say push your book but still be human and don’t push too hard. Others say, take times and ignore your books and just let your readers know a little about yourself. Ugh! Okay, so I’m not going to ‘sell’ you my books. But just in case you’re wondering they are Secrets Found, Secrets Unbound and Secrets Kept. Then there is, The Day I...
